Vermelhinhos (2009)
In November 2010, the city of Florianópolis (Brasil) hosted the 4º Regional Encounter of the 'Sem-Terrinha' ("Little Landless Workers"): the children of those living and working in expropriated properties (previously uncultivated) in the South of Brasil. These sons and grandsons of members of the Landless Workers Movement (Movimento Sem-Terra, MST) had travelled from distant areas in the countryside to meet and discuss their role in the future of the MST movement.
Vermelhinhos was the result of 3 days spent with them in this extraordinary event: from improvised general assemblies in the hotel lobby to group meetings with public authorities, from visiting schools and universities to first time trips to the beach, this ethno-documentary gives us a glimpse of what it means to be the next generation growing up within the most famous social movement in South America.
